Missed the Canadian Dental Care Plan renewal deadline? Don't let a missed date turn into a missed dental appointment!
Your Scarborough dentist understands that life gets busy. Between work, family commitments and everything else on your calendar, it's easy to overlook a deadline. For Scarborough families relying on the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), missing the annual renewal can feel stressful.
At Dentistry at Alton Towers, we understand how important affordable dental care is. Here's what you need to know about getting your coverage back on track.
What Happens When You Miss the CDCP Renewal Deadline?
The CDCP renewal deadline for the 2026-2027 benefit period was June 1, 2026. Missed it? You can still submit a new application through Service Canada!
However, your coverage won't continue automatically. You'll experience a gap until your new application receives approval and your coverage becomes active. The CDCP doesn't cover dental services received during a coverage gap, and you can't claim reimbursement for those visits later.
Can You Still Visit the Dentist During a Coverage Gap?
Absolutely! A lapse in CDCP coverage doesn't prevent you from booking dental care. Dentistry at Alton Towers accepts CDCP patients and offers payment options for patients managing dental expenses.
During a coverage gap, you may need to pay privately for treatment. Our team can discuss anticipated costs before your appointment so you can make an informed decision. We accept cash and most major credit and debit cards. We also offer access to third-party financing through Affirm, subject to approval.
Have a toothache or another urgent concern? Give us a call rather than waiting for your coverage to return.
How Do You Get Your CDCP Coverage Back?
Start with these steps:
- Visit Canada.ca/dental to submit a new application.
- Check your application status through Service Canada.
- Confirm your new coverage start date before receiving CDCP-funded treatment.
- Contact our team to discuss your appointment and expected costs.
- Remember, CDCP coverage may still involve co-payments or additional charges.
