Invisalign® Clear Aligners

Traditional braces work well for complex orthodontic cases, and for some patients, they’re definitely the best solution. But when your alignment issues aren’t severe, you may be a candidate for Invisalign® clear aligners.

With clear aligners, you can comfortably and discreetly straighten your teeth without bulky brackets and wires getting in the way. And not only that, with Invisalign, you won’t have to worry about food restrictions or plaque buildup. Just remove your aligners to eat, brush, and floss your teeth.

Before you know it, you’ll have the smile you’ve always wanted!

Are Clear Aligners Right for You?

Invisalign clear aligners work well for both teens and adults without severe orthodontic concerns. When you visit us for a consultation, we’ll examine your teeth and gums and take x-rays to see if you’re a candidate.

If you have any of the following orthodontic issues, Invisalign may work for you:

  • Overbite
  • Underbite
  • Crossbite
  • Open bite
  • Gapped teeth
  • Crowded teeth

Why Choose Invisalign® from Dentistry at Alton Towers?

There are numerous reasons why clear aligner therapy is a good orthodontic option for many patients. Some of the benefits of this popular treatment include the following:

Nearly Invisible

Most people won’t even notice that you’re wearing clear aligners; they’re made from clear plastic that fits snugly over your natural teeth.

Easily Removable

When it’s time to eat your favourite foods or brush and floss your teeth, all you have to do is take your aligners out and safely store them.

Highly Comfortable

Unlike traditional braces, which can irritate your lips, tongue, and cheeks, clear aligners are known for their flexibility and comfort.

Extremely Versatile

When you choose Invisalign aligners, there aren’t any food limitations. You can enjoy hard, crunchy, and sticky foods; just remove your aligners.

The Invisalign Process: What You Can Expect

Here’s what you can expect when you choose Invisalign clear aligners from Dentistry at Alton Towers:

  • Consultation and exam — The first step in your clear aligner journey involves a comprehensive exam to determine if you’re a good Invisalign candidate. We’ll assess your teeth and gums and evaluate your dental hygiene.
  • Digital scanning — Next, we’ll take digital 3-D images of your teeth. During this step, you’ll be able to preview your new smile before we begin treatment.
  • Treatment planning — We’ll discuss your treatment plan with you, providing all the information you need to make an informed decision, including treatment time and cost.
  • First aligner fitting — Once your aligners arrive, you’ll stop by so we can give you instructions and ensure they fit properly. Every two weeks, you’ll switch to a new set of aligners until your treatment is complete.
  • Routine visits — Every six to eight weeks, you’ll visit our clinic so we can monitor your progress. Between visits, you just need to wear your aligners for 20-22 hours each day.
  • Retainers — To keep your teeth from shifting back into their original position, you’ll need to wear retainers after treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Tooth loss during treatment with clear aligners is extremely rare and usually due to pre-existing conditions, as opposed to Invisalign itself. The movement of your teeth that Invisalign promotes is very gradual and typically wouldn't cause tooth loss.

Our dentists perform a thorough evaluation prior to starting treatment with Invisalign to ensure you're in good health and that Invisalign is the right treatment for your smile. If they feel you're not in good general health to support treatment with Invisalign, they'll let you know and suggest other more suitable treatment options.

How Does Invisalign Work?

Instead of using brackets and wires attached to your teeth for movement, Invisalign's clear aligners gradually move teeth into proper alignment with gentle pressure.

Patients wear the aligners for 22 hours per day, changing them every two weeks for new movements. Consistently wearing the aligners is the key to successful treatment with Invisalign; however, the aligners are removable and can be removed for meals, brushing, flossing, and any other needs that may arise.
